Coach Palomino
At the core of my goalkeeper training philosophy is one fundamental principle: training must reflect the game. Sessions are designed to prepare goalkeepers for the intensity, chaos, and pressure of real match situations—not for highlight reels, but for performance when it matters most.
I am a former professional goalkeeper and currently serve as a Director of Goalkeeping, with over 20 years of experience as both a player and coach. My work spans elite youth, academy, and high-performance environments, with the clear objective of developing confident, complete, and game-ready goalkeepers capable of progressing to the collegiate and professional levels.
My methodology is built on match-realistic training, replicating the moments goalkeepers face in competition. Every session is intentionally designed to demand fast decision-making, technical efficiency, tactical awareness, and mental resilience. Whether managing space behind the back line, commanding the box under pressure, closing down 1v1 situations, or executing decisive saves, training always reflects the true demands of the position.
Training Methodology Focus
My goalkeeper development framework emphasizes:
Technical Excellence – handling, footwork, shot-stopping, and recovery actions
Defending Space & Preventing Shots – anticipation, positioning, and proactive decisions
1v1 Situations – bravery, timing, and intelligent problem-solving
Aerial Control – confident decision-making and dominance on crosses
Distribution – two-footed control and accuracy for modern, ball-playing goalkeepers
Leadership & Communication – organizing the defensive unit and influencing the game
Goalkeepers are trained not only to make saves, but to own their space, read the game early, and impact outcomes through intelligent, proactive play.
Qualifications & Professional Development

Former Professional Goalkeeper
U.S. Soccer Federation National C License
USSF National B License – enrollment in progress

This is not generic goalkeeper training. It is intentional preparation for the next level. For goalkeepers with aspirations to play college or professional soccer, training must mirror those standards—every session, every repetition, every decision.
The objective is simple: develop goalkeepers who don’t just play the game—but understand it, control it, and define it.
